Art abounds in Seville, and it is true that many of the paintings and sculptures are housed in their respective churches. But it is also true that the city’s museums are living testaments to Seville’s history, preserving many priceless works of art.

Among them, you’ll find works by great masters such as Velázquez and Murillo, as well as genre painters like Gonzalo Bilbao; contemporary art in a medieval monastery; ruins of houses from the Roman Empire; the former castle of the Spanish Inquisition; a center where you can explore traditional Triana pottery; and an entire museum dedicated to Seville’s archaeological remains.
