Alcazar of Seville – Guided Tour

Discover the must-see monument in Seville

It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987 and is considered the oldest royal palace in Europe still in use.

Why take this tour?

Why take this tour with me?

Unlike large group tours, you’ll have a professional guide all to yourself. It will be a more personalized tour, and you’ll be able to ask as many questions as you like, since I’ll be at your complete disposal.

You’ll be supporting high-quality, more sustainable tourism in Seville, while also ensuring that your guide has the historical knowledge needed to lead the tour.

The tour will last 2 hours, during which you’ll be able to enjoy the monument at your own pace without missing a thing—another key difference from group tours, which typically last 1 or 1.5 hours.

What you’ll do

  • We’ll start by explaining what the Alcázar is, its origins, its use, and its history, so that right from the start you can place it in its historical context and understand its significance. From the very beginning, you’ll learn which parts of the Alcázar are still being studied, as recent archaeological discoveries are set to bring about a major change for the monument.
  • We will tour every room in the palace complex, leaving no corner unexplored, and we will place each one in its historical context and architectural style.
  • As you tour the palace, you’ll discover the historical figures who once lived there, the legends that still live on, and the stories from the palace’s recent past, such as the filming of *Game of Thrones*, among others.
  • Last but not least, we’ll take a look at the gardens. We’ll explain their history and different styles. Once the tour is over, you can stay in the gardens as long as you like (until the Alcázar closes, of course). There’s a café there where you can grab a bite to eat if you’re hungry.
