Seville is not an expensive city compared with the rest of Spain or Europe. However, the tourist area and the activities dedicated to tourism always have higher prices. Here I’ll explain the typical prices in Seville, but keep in mind that this is an average and you can find much higher and lower prices.
Accommodation
Fortunately, prices in Seville are different from the ones of Paris, London or New York, so the average of accommodation in high season is usually around € 90 – € 100. Of course, the quality and comfort can increase these prices. In low season, the average is around € 50 – € 80.
Food
Compared to the rest of Europe, Seville is one of the cheapest cities to eat and drink. Here a general rule of thumb for pricing is applied: the more necessary a product is, the cheaper it should be.
For that reason, beer -something basic in Sevillian life- usually costs around € 1, tapas are between € 2 – € 4 and dishes are priced at around € 12 – € 20, but they are usually for sharing. Prices rise and fall depending on the premises and the quality of the products.
On the other hand, you can drink coffee for just over € 1, sweets are between € 2 – € 3 and drinks (alcoholic beverages) are usually between € 6 – € 8.
Monuments
You can’t help spending your money on the tickets of the important monuments. The two most essential are the Alcazar of Seville and the Cathedral. Both will cost you around € 11 each.
To enter the Palatial Houses (highly recommended), you must pay between € 6 – € 12. And although most churches are free, others will ask you for € 2 – € 5 per visit.
On the other hand, the museums are usually free or very cheap, hovering around € 2 – € 3. Finally, there are a large number of free monuments and activities, or special hours in which you will not have to pay to enter the monuments that normally charge entrance, so do not forget to visit this section to get the most out of your visit!
Leisure
If you are visiting Seville and you have time, you may want to see a flamenco show, an exhibition, go to the theatre (yes, in Spanish) or sign up for a dramatized guided tour (also in Spanish). If you come with children, you might take them to Isla Mágica, Seville’s amusement park, or to the Aquarium.
Flamenco shows are generally more dedicated to tourists, so you have to be careful and search carefully on internet before getting your tickets. The price is usually around € 20 – € 30.
If you feel inspired to go to the theatre or do a dramatized guided tour, you should know that they cost around € 12 – € 20, depending on the place, company and quality.
Exhibitions are usually free or included at the ticket to the space where they are located. For both the Aquarium and Isla Mágica, prices are around € 20.
