If you are preparing for your trip to Seville, this is one of the fundamental things that you will have to take into account. The first thing you should know is that Seville Airport (SVQ) is located very close to the city, about 15 km from the center.
To get there and back you have several options:
Bus EA (Especial Airport)
It is the cheapest and most popular option, as well as the one we recommend.
It is a Tussam bus, the Seville buses company , so it is quite similar to the other buses in the city, except that it has space for suitcases and stops are announced in English and Spanish. The journey takes approximately 35 minutes.
Price: €4 one way. Although the round trip is €6, it’s only for using it at the same day.
Hours: To go from the airport to the city, the first bus leaves at 5:20 and the last at 00:50. If, on the other hand, you are going from the centre to the airport, they start at 4:30 and end at 00:00. It comes about every 20-30 minutes.
The transport company, Tussam, has an app that is useful to find out the frequency of the buses and the stops’ exact location.
Unfortunately, there is no public transport you can take to the city during the early hours of the morning, so if you arrive to Seville after 1:00 you will have to wait for the EA service to start again or take a taxi.
Route: The EA leaves the city from the Plaza de Armas bus station (usually platform 1 or 2, the bus is well signposted) and arrives at the departure terminal. It departs from this point and does the journey in reverse. At the airport the EA bus is well indicated and you will see that it is hard to miss.
The EA bus makes several stops, most of them are central or well connected to the city centre, so I’d recommend using the map to check where your accommodation is to know which the correct stop is.
Here you can have a look at the schedules and the route to consult.
Check how to get to your accommodation by public transport.
Tickets: Tickets are purchased directly from the driver, so it is not possible to pay by card. However, they always have change, so don’t worry if you only have large bills.
Taxi
If you prefer private transport, this is the most expensive option, but the most comfortable too, since the journey takes approximately 20 minutes, depending on the traffic.
Taxis are found in the marked areas, so you will have no problem finding them.
Prices: The advantage of taking a taxi from the airport to the city is that the prices are fixed, so they will not charge for your bags. This applies to all taxi companies. The only extra charge you must pay will be in the case that you book it by phone, since the metre will add the extra distance to your collection point.
- Monday to Friday between 7:00 and 21:00: €22.20.
- On weekends, night hours (from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.) and during Easter and the April Fair: €24.75.
- The most expensive price is at Easter and the Fair at night: €30.93.
All this applies both from the airport to the city and vice versa.
With this information you can plan the date and time your plane lands in order to get to the city easily. Here you have the taxi information website.
Car
If you decide to rent a car, at the airport you will find several car rental companies. It will take approximately 25 mins to get to the city.
However, you should know that it is quite difficult to drive through the city centre because much of it is pedestrianised. You must join the A-4 and then the S-30, which is the one that circles Seville. Again, keep in mind where your accommodation is, as the car parks in the historic centre could be useful.
Still, it is the least recommended option because once you are in Seville you won’t need the car to move around, and you will save money and problems when parking. However, if you want to explore Andalusia or explore the villages, it could be an attractive option.
I hope this information has been useful for you. Have a good trip!
