Palaces

In our imagination, when we think of the word ‘palace’ probably the image comes to mind of a large stately building surrounded by gardens and placed in the outskirts of a city. Well, I have to tell you that the palaces of Seville and in general those of Andalusia are different and the more correct name is ‘palatial house’. They are stately buildings that were built for nobility or for rich merchants in the era of trade with America. In contrast with European ones, they are located in the centre of the city, with rather austere facades, you would never imagine that within the walls there would be a true marvel hiding. They are characterised above all by having a large interior courtyard by means of which the rooms are distributed.

Here, I will tell you the different palatial houses to visit, some are more famous and visited than others. Nevertheless, there are many more than you imagine, in fact, Seville is full of them, although you have to know how to look…
