Just like before, here is a suggested plan of a 3 day visit to Seville. For the first 2 days, you can look at the previous post.
Day 1 & 2.
Day 3.
Morning:
- A good option would be to start the day visiting the Convent of Santa Clara and the Tower of Don Fadrique. Close by, you find one of the other interesting things to see here in Seville: the remains of the medieval Arabic wall. Following it, you will arrive to the great Macerena Gate and the Macerena Basilica.
- In front of it you’ll see the former great hospital of the city, the Cinco Llagas hospital, now the Andalucian Parliament and it’s worth a visit.
- Going down San Luis Street you’ll come across the impressive San Luis de los Franceses Church.
- At this point it would be interesting to visit the Algaba Marquises’ Palace and eat something in the Market on Feria Street or in one of the places in the Alameda to see the atmosphere during the day. Don’t leave out the Omnium Sanctorum Church to discover the impressive design of Gothic-Mudejar churches.
Afternoon:
- On the last afternoon, you can’t leave without seeing the palatial houses of Seville. You could start with the Countess of Lebrija Palace in Cuna Street, to follow on with the Pinelos’ House and the Salinas’ house.
- After, it would be interesting to visit some of the museums that Seville has to offer. There is a varied selection; if you’re curious about Roman Seville, you could visit the Antiquarium; if it’s modern art that interests you, head over to the Centre of Contemporary art; the Fine Art museum is the perfect option to get to know the art of Seville as a whole; meanwhile to get to know the Andalusian culture the best things to visit are the Museum of Art and Popular Customs or the Fabiola House. Other interesting options are the Centre of Ceramics in Triana, or the Castle of San Jorge if you’re interested in the history of the inquisition in Seville. Take into account the opening times of all these places in case they close early and they don’t work with your plan.
- If you prefer, instead of visiting a museum, you could do the tour The Unknown Seville, in which you will discover the authentic city as well as the local life, and see in Seville those things that aren’t in the travel guide books.
Dinner:
- To say goodbye to the city, maybe you would like to go to a flamenco show while you eat, or possibly you’d prefer to have a good dinner in a restaurant that’s in a historic place like the Pizzeria la Casa del Tesorero or Meson del Moro.
- But you cannot say goodbye without having a last drink in a terrace with views. You can do this in the terraces of the hotels in the centre and you’ll take home unforgettable memories of your last night in Seville.
More than 3 days
If you’re staying in the city for more than 3 days, don’t leave without doing an activity such as those offered by Espacio Barro Azul, make a trip, or enter in those churches or monuments that you have only seen from the outside. In which case, I’d recommend the Hospital de Caridad, a genuine baroque treasure.
