If you are looking for an alternative activity, which also allows you to be in contact with the culture and traditions of the city, you should take part in a workshop at Espacio BarroAzul. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located at the heart of the pottery quarter of the city, Triana<\/a>, in Calle Alfareria -Pottery Street-, its location is in line with their activities, all aimed to conserve and share the ancient craft of ceramics, traditional in this neighbourhood and which characterises Seville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Its founders, Paula (anthropologist and ceramicist) and Antonio (art historian and cultural manager), along with their team explain the history of the neighbourhood, and its relationship with pottery, then they demonstrate the traditional techniques of this historical art form.  Afterwards you learn how to paint two tiles using two of these techniques, which the next day, when fired, you can take home with you as a souvenir. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The processes of painting on a tile is a traditional Sevillian technique, and was the most commonly used in the city, something that you can\u2019t fail to notice as you walk its streets, especially after taking this workshop.\u00a0I\u2019m sure that when you leave, you\u2019ll discover ceramics in places that you wouldn\u2019t have noticed before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, in their workshop you\u2019ll find original ceramic pieces made by them that you can buy, knowing that you\u2019re taking home something that\u2019s made by hand with a lot of love. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
